Audi has released three teaser sketches of the A3 concept, which previews the 2012 Audi A3 sedan, ahead of the car's world debut at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show.

The four-seater notchback concept is defined by a low roof and C-pillar, as well as a single-frame grille and LED headlights. The concept illustrates the German automaker's strategy of filling in as many niches in the market as possible. "The four-seater notchback sedan offers a glimpse of the future expansion of the A3 family," said Audi AG in a statement.

Audi offered no glimpse of the A3's interior design at this point. It said the A3 concept gets a 408-horsepower five-cylinder turbocharged engine linked to a seven-speed S tronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. Performance numbers have not been released for the concept. The A3 concept measures 175 inches long and 55 inches tall.
